Backfill history opens one sheet holding everything recorded for a policy: premiums, PUA premiums, loans, repayments, loan interest, fees, and the loan balances printed on carrier statements. It is reachable from Premium Schedule, the Loans tab, the Ledger, and the Record menu, and it replaces entering each kind of history on its own screen.
Three Ways In
- Upload a document — Builder Pro reads carrier statements, transaction histories, and screenshots, several at a time, and fills the sheet in for you.
- Enter manually — type rows, or paste them from a spreadsheet in the order Date, Type, Amount.
- Edit history — change or remove rows already saved.
Rows read from a document arrive unchecked. That is deliberate: it gives you a chance to compare each row against the page it came from before it counts. A row the reader could not classify is flagged for a look rather than guessed at.
For a repayment, enter the full amount paid. The sheet uses that amount to estimate the loan balance until a statement snapshot resets it to the carrier's reported balance. The difference appears as an adjustment. The optional Added to starting balance field on a loan row is for interest included when that loan was issued; it is separate from the amount paid on a repayment.
How the Loan Balance Is Worked Out
The balance counts up from the start of the recorded history, entry by entry. Each carrier statement is a checkpoint: when the running balance reaches a statement, it is set to the figure the carrier reported. The most recent statement therefore governs the balance shown today, and activity after it counts up from there.
Where the recorded entries do not add up to what a statement reported, the difference is recorded as its own entry, labelled as adjusted to that statement. It is visible in the history rather than folded silently into a number.
